Seascape in Acrylics Demonstration

Ongar Art Society welcomes Mark Warner on Thursday 14 March at Tipps Cross Remembrance  Hall, Hook End, Brentwood, Essex between 8-10pm, to demonstrate his skills and techniques in the art of painting a seascape in acrylics.

Mark will be demonstrating his skills & techniques using Acrylics, to create a seascape painting.

Mark studied Fine Art in Newport & is now working from his studio on the Shropshire/Wales border. Growing up on the coast has had a huge impact in the way Mark developed his particular approach to painting & how he views the landscape.

Members & non-members are welcome. First meeting for a non-member is free, so a perfect opportunity to view an art demonstration ‘live’.

Artist of the Month - February
Hugh Rayner

Hugh Rayner has been nominated as Artist of the Month for February within our art society.Hugh is an artist resident of Essex & member of Ongar Art Society. Following a lifetime of travel, he discovered art 28 years ago.

He specialised in landscapes & coastal scenes of places he visited. He works in acrylic, collage, watercolour & pastel, favouring bright colours.

Hugh has also painted local scenes & is successful in selling his work, having participated in several exhibitions, many for charity.

In 2022, he reached the final of Artist of the Year in the Society of Amateur Artists (SAA) annual competition.

New members are very welcome at Ongar Art Society.  

All genre of artwork and mediums, including drawing/painting, sculpture, mixed media, ceramics etc are welcome.

Annually, we invite a critique whom provides independent advice of Members Artwork.
