Ongar Art Society presents Lynne Matthews aka @artscenicbylynne, whom will host this months art demonstration on Thursday 9th July at 7.30pm, in Stondon Massey Village Hall, in the techniques of Encaustic painting. Encaustic methods involve using pigmented beeswax which is applied to card using heated tools, to form delicately textured images. All members, guests & prospective members are welcome.

Lynne will be sharing details of her equipment required & techniques used, to form a variety of wax paintings, including a mountainous landscape, plus abstract florals & a small seascape.
A small selection of cards, keyrings, pocket hugs & bookmarks created by Lynne, will be available to purchase in the interval. Refreshments will be served also.
A little about the Artist:-
Inspired by my lifelong interest of the countryside, hiking in the Derbyshire Peaks during my childhood and exhilarating holidays in Snowdonia, I now enjoy similar experiences with my own family, in the expansive country parks in Essex. Once back in the studio, with reflection upon magnificent views and landscapes, original beeswax paintings are created.

A ceremony was held at Ongar Academy on 18th April attended by representatives of the Twinning Organisations of Cerizay, France and Ongar, Great Britain, and invited guests. The Chair of Ongar Art Society, Loueen Morrison and Publicity Officer, Susan Keeble were among those with a special invitation.
There was a lovely Afternoon Tea, a concert by the primary schools and a wonderful medley of songs from Chicago, the Musical by Ongar Singers.
The main event followed - the unveiling of a painting, created by Joe Charman, instigated by Loueen Morrison and Hugh Rayner of Ongar Art Society. The representatives from Cerizay were delighted with the presentation of the beautiful work of art.
The painting will be now in residence in Cerizay in France. Ongar Art Society has now attained International connections and we were very proud to have been part of this important ceremony.
